Filming at Dumfries House was a pleasure. The Georgian architecture has so much charm, and every room carries a sense of history that adds richness to the footage. Light pours through tall windows, highlighting details you don’t find in every venue, and around every corner there’s a new spot perfect for a quiet moment.

The grounds are just as special. Peaceful walled gardens, sweeping lawns, and open countryside give Dumfries House a sense of calm that feels timeless. It was the ideal backdrop for Luis and Giulia’s relaxed celebration.

• What’s your filming style at Keepsake Creates?

  We most commonly film in a cinematic, storytelling style which combines beautiful shots that are dramatised by movement and dreamy blurred foregrounds and backgrounds, bringing sharp attention to you, the couple. These stunning visuals are enhanced by the narrative woven into your film from the speeches and vows. In the case of Luis and Giulia’s wedding we adapted our style to their request. Luis and Giulia asked to have all the raw footage as they wanted to produce their own documentary style film from the media. Our goal was therefore to take a more observational approach to filming, also known as documentary style filming, to capture the moments as it unfolded as if from the eyes of a guest. From that media we produced a music film, which is a montage of beautiful moments edited to music that encapsulates the authentic, warm, and emotional highlights of their wedding day.

• Do you capture audio as well as video?

  Yes. We use discreet professional audio equipment to record your vows, speeches, and other key moments clearly. You’ll be able to hear every word and every laugh without seeing intrusive microphones in your footage.

• Do you offer drone footage?

  Absolutely we do, if requested as an add on, and where permitted and safe to do so. Drone footage can add a cinematic perspective to your wedding film, especially for venues with beautiful grounds and sweeping landscapes.

• How do you make sure we feel comfortable on camera?

  We know being filmed can feel daunting, especially when we’re close by capturing key moments. That’s why we take time in the lead-up to your wedding to build a good relationship with you both. We’ll chat through what to expect, how we work on the day, and make sure you feel confident and at ease before we even pick up a camera. On the day itself, we’ll be close enough to capture the small, meaningful moments but never in a way that interrupts the flow of events. Our goal is to blend into the background while still being present for the parts you’ll want to relive later.

• When will we receive our wedding film?

  We know how excited you’ll be to relive the day, so we’ll send you a highlights trailer first, which can be within two weeks, followed by your full film, which is within seven weeks. Turnaround times can vary depending on the season, but we’ll keep you updated at every step so you know exactly how far along production is.
